Job description

We are currently seeking an Interim System Integration Lead – Automation & Electrical to support the integration and validation of advanced automation and electrical systems aboard cutting-edge naval vessels. In this role, you will take ownership of system-level integration, guide cross-disciplinary engineering teams, and ensure subcontractor deliverables meet the highest technical standards within agreed timelines. Your leadership will be critical in maintaining quality throughout all Verification & Validation (V&V) phases.

Key Responsibilities

As Interim System Integration Lead – Automation & Electrical, you will:

  • Act as the primary technical lead for system integration, ensuring all systems function harmoniously and meet contractual specifications.

  • Coordinate and guide multidisciplinary engineering teams and subject matter experts throughout the integration process.

  • Manage technical documentation, including the preparation and delivery of Verification & Validation reports.

  • Organize and lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Harbor Acceptance Tests (HAT), and Sea Acceptance Tests (SAT).

  • Facilitate client design reviews, handle documentation approval processes, and address escalated technical issues.

  • Monitor compliance with quality standards, project milestones, and regulatory requirements.

PROFILE & QUALIFICATIONS
To thrive in this position, you bring:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a closely related field.

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in the shipbuilding, offshore, or marine technology sectors.

  • In-depth technical knowledge of automation systems, electrical integration, and control systems in complex environments.

  • Demonstrated experience managing technically challenging projects with multiple stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical thinking and a proactive approach to overcoming technical and compliance challenges.

  • Full professional fluency in English; proficiency in German is advantageous.

  • A strong professional reputation, as pre-assignment security clearance is mandatory.

  • EU citizenship and a valid EU passport are required due to the sensitive, defense-related nature of the work. Candidates holding a non-EU passport or work visa are not eligible.
