We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer with expertise in combat systems to take a leading role in defining, managing, and validating system requirements for complex naval platforms. In this position, you will be responsible for coordinating requirements management as well as IVVQ (Integration, Verification, Validation, and Qualification) activities. Your input will ensure that all subsystems integrate seamlessly and meet both functional and non-functional demands.

This role requires someone who can act as a bridge between technical teams and stakeholders, combining a strong systems engineering background with a clear focus on operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Management: Maintain and oversee the full set of system requirements, ensuring consistency, traceability, and clear documentation across combat-related modules and subsystems.

  • Systems Engineering Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert for system architecture and integration, providing guidance on requirement development, review processes, and requirement allocation.

  • IVVQ Coordination: Direct verification and validation activities, review technical deliverables, and ensure all requirements are tested and approved.

  • Stakeholder Alignment: Act as a liaison between engineering disciplines, project partners, and other stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and technical coordination.

  • Process Improvement: Contribute to continuous development of requirements engineering and IVVQ methodologies, with a focus on quality and efficiency.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking candidates who bring the following:

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline, along with substantial experience in systems engineering or subcontractor management of advanced technical systems (preferably in shipbuilding or a comparable high-tech sector).

  • Strong knowledge of integration of complex naval and/or combat-related systems.

  • Hands-on experience with requirements management software (e.g., IBM DOORS or similar tools).

  • A track record of working in multidisciplinary project environments with high complexity.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead or coordinate engineering activities in large-scale technical projects.

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken; knowledge of German is an asset.

  • Strong professional references and ability to pass a security clearance procedure.

  • EU-only requirement: Applicants must hold permanent EU citizenship and an EU passport. Due to project restrictions, candidates with work visas, dual nationality, or non-EU status unfortunately cannot be considered.
