We are looking for a Lead Engineer – Piping Systems to support a temporary project assignment in Vlissingen. In this role, you will take ownership of the design, engineering, and integration of advanced piping systems for complex maritime platforms. You will act as a technical lead, coordinating with both internal engineering teams and external partners, and ensuring that all work meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance throughout the project phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and interpreting technical requirements related to piping systems across different projects.

  • Preparing and modelling both basic and detailed design packages using 2D and 3D CAD tools, ensuring compliance with internal standards and industry regulations.

  • Coordinating outsourced engineering tasks and validating the technical quality of external deliverables.

  • Advising stakeholders on improvements, best practices, and optimization opportunities within piping design.

  • Guaranteeing that safety, environmental, and quality regulations are respected during all project stages.

  • Guiding and mentoring colleagues, contributing to knowledge sharing and process improvements.

  • Collaborating with other engineering disciplines to achieve seamless integration of piping systems within overall designs.

  • Taking responsibility for complex technical tasks and contributing to design and project reviews.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking professionals who bring:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field (e.g., Mechanical, Marine, or similar).

  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in piping system engineering, ideally within shipbuilding, offshore, or comparable industries.

  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD applications, with proven experience in modelling complex piping layouts.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors and review outsourced engineering work.

  • Familiarity with classification societies and regulatory frameworks relevant to piping design.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, combined with a proactive problem-solving approach.

  • Good communication skills in English (Dutch language skills are advantageous).

  • Positive references, with security screening forming part of the recruitment process.

  • Full and exclusive EU citizenship with a valid EU passport (due to project-related requirements, applicants with visas, dual nationality, or non-EU citizenship cannot be considered).
