Engineer Marine Piping Systems (interim)

As an Interim Engineer for Marine Piping Systems, you will contribute to the design and engineering of piping arrangements for advanced naval projects. Your role involves reviewing technical requirements, preparing and modelling engineering documentation, and ensuring that piping layouts meet stringent standards for quality, safety, and efficiency. Your know-how will directly support the successful execution of complex shipbuilding assignments.

Main Responsibilities

In this role, your tasks will include:

• Specification Analysis: Interpreting and evaluating technical requirements for piping systems, making sure designs are consistent with project objectives, regulations, and quality guidelines.

• Basic Design Development: Creating and modelling engineering documentation for piping systems in a 3D environment, in line with internal standards and industry rules.

• Detailed Design & Production: Producing accurate and compliant engineering details and production information derived from the basic design.

• Collaboration with Stakeholders: Updating designs as necessary and providing technical advice to both internal teams and external partners.

• Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Working together with other engineering disciplines to optimize piping solutions for the overall vessel design.

• Design Reviews: Identifying potential risks, suggesting improvements, and participating in reviews to safeguard project delivery.

• Compliance & Knowledge Sharing: Ensuring all work adheres to applicable regulations and contributing to knowledge development within the department.
  

Candidate Profile

We are seeking candidates who bring:

• A relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, combined with at least three years of experience in piping system design, ideally within shipbuilding or offshore construction.

• Strong skills in 2D and 3D CAD applications, with proven ability to model and design complex piping layouts.

• Experience in projects involving high-end vessels, including managing complexity and ensuring adherence to classification societies and regulatory standards.

• Solid command of English, both written and spoken.

• Strong references, with security clearance forming part of the hiring process.

• Full and exclusive EU citizenship with a valid EU passport (applicants holding dual EU/non-EU nationality or only a work visa are not eligible due to project requirements).
