Job description
We are looking for a Technical Author / Engineer Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) for a permanent position. In this role, you will be responsible for managing ILS-related projects and services for naval vessels. Your main objective will be to enhance the operational readiness and availability of ships while minimizing lifecycle costs.
Your work will involve analyzing maintenance plans and technical documentation (S1000D), providing supply support, including special tools and test equipment, and developing training materials. You will collaborate closely with different disciplines within the organization to prepare and deliver ILS products that meet contractual requirements, ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance with quality standards. Additionally, you will contribute to the strategic development of the ILS technology roadmap.
Job requirements
As a Technical Author / Engineer Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), your main tasks will include:
Performing ILS analyses, such as Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) and other ILS-related assessments.
Studying and reporting on the reliability and maintainability of naval equipment.
Cooperating with the technical (design) department and reporting to the Project Manager ILS.
Working on various ILS products, including procurement support, maintenance/LSA (RAM and LCC calculations), supply support, documentation, training, and technology transfer.
Ensuring compliance with all applicable company and end-user requirements.
Delivering ILS products and services on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
Assisting in drafting and reviewing ILS proposals and supporting the continuous improvement of ILS products, processes, and methodologies.
Preparing ILS training materials for technical equipment and naval systems.
Preparing budgetary offers and cost estimations for projects.
Studying and interpreting technical regulations and drawings relevant to each project.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in marine engineering or a similar technical field.
Proven knowledge and experience in ILS, as well as expertise in the development and execution of ILS packages within a technical and/or Ministry of Defence (MoD) environment, or alternatively, maintenance experience in an engineering environment.
Experience working in multifunctional and multicultural teams.
Fluency in Dutch and English (written and verbal); additional language skills in German and Spanish are an advantage.
A naval background or an affinity with naval environments and culture is preferred.
