Job description

We are looking for an experienced Interim Technical Author / Engineer Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) to contribute to projects related to ILS scope and services for naval vessels. The primary goal is to enhance operational readiness and availability while minimizing lifecycle costs. This role involves a variety of ILS-related tasks, including maintenance planning, technical documentation (S1000D), supply support, and training.

Collaboration with multiple disciplines within the organization is essential to ensure high-quality ILS deliverables. You will be working within multifunctional teams, ensuring that ILS products are developed and delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. Additionally, you will play a role in advancing the strategic ILS technology roadmap and ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering contractual ILS packages.

Job requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct ILS analyses, including Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) and other relevant topics.

  • Assess and report on the reliability and maintainability of naval equipment.

  • Collaborate with technical (design) departments and report to the Project Manager ILS.

  • Develop and deliver ILS products such as purchase support, maintenance planning, LSA including RAM and LCC calculations, supply support, technical documentation, training, and technology transfer.

  • Ensure compliance with company and end-user requirements.

  • Prepare ILS training materials for technical equipment and naval products.

  • Contribute to drafting and reviewing ILS proposals, as well as improving and developing ILS methodologies and processes.

  • Conduct studies of applicable technical regulations and drawings relevant to each project.

  • Provide budgetary estimates and project cost assessments.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.

  • Proven expertise in ILS, with experience in the development and execution of ILS packages in a technical and/or Ministry of Defense (MoD) environment.

  • Alternatively, experience in maintenance engineering within a technical environment.

  • Ability to work effectively in multifunctional and multicultural teams.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English; proficiency in German or Spanish is a plus.

  • Preferably a naval background or a strong affinity with naval environments and culture.

  • Excellent references, as security screening is a mandatory part of the hiring process.

  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are required. Candidates with an EU work visa or non-EU nationality and/or passport do not meet the eligibility criteria due to the military nature of the projects.
