Team Lead Electrical

About the Position
In this role, you will be responsible for the electrical engineering scope within cutting-edge naval shipbuilding programs. You’ll lead a team of (Senior) Electrical Engineers throughout the project lifecycle — from establishing a strong work breakdown structure and planning, to delivering results that meet all technical and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate closely with various departments and report directly to the Project Manager Engineering, with a strong focus on quality, budget control, and timely delivery.

Your Responsibilities
As a Team Lead Electrical, you will:

• Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers, ensuring efficient project execution and continuous team development.

• Create work breakdown structures, allocate tasks, and manage engineering budgets and timelines.

• Guarantee that all deliverables meet classification society rules and client specifications.

• Coordinate technical input to commissioning activities, ensuring seamless system integration.

• Oversee vendor and subcontractor activities, including technical reviews and performance monitoring.

• Support procurement processes through the evaluation of technical proposals.

• Ensure compliance with relevant maritime regulations and internal engineering standards.

• Act as a technical point of contact for project stakeholders, contributing to strong working relationships.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate brings the following skills and experience:

• At least 5 years of experience in designing complex electrical systems in the maritime, offshore, or shipbuilding industry.

• Background in managing or leading engineering teams (up to 10 people).

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Technical Automation, or similar.

• Strong project management skills, with the ability to deliver work packages on schedule.

• Familiarity with class-regulated products and international engineering standards.

• Fluent in English (spoken and written); Dutch is a plus.

• Excellent professional references.

• Must pass a pre-employment security screening due to the sensitive nature of the work.
