Functieomschrijving

Are you passionate about optimizing engineering workflows through advanced digital platforms? For a high-end maritime engineering environment, we are looking for a Functional Systems Specialist with expertise in CAD and Product Lifecycle Management systems.

In this role, you will contribute to the further development and optimization of structural design capabilities within a modern PLM ecosystem. You will help shape a more intelligent and automated way of working by aligning engineering processes with digital tooling. Working across multiple complex shipbuilding programs simultaneously, you will gain insight into the full lifecycle of large-scale maritime projects.

Vereisten

Main Responsibilities

  1. Convert structural engineering requirements into functional system specifications in collaboration with key stakeholders and the PLM architecture team.

  2. Act as a liaison between engineering users and software vendors to ensure optimal system performance and issue resolution related to structural modeling.

  3. Plan and perform validation activities for new releases, system updates, and environment transitions within controlled test setups.

  4. Develop user guidance, documentation, and training materials for PLM/CAD users.

  5. Support the configuration and optimization of product structures (e.g., engineering and manufacturing BOM setups) and parametric libraries.

  6. Define and manage project-specific geometric reference frameworks within the design environment.

  7. Continuously assess opportunities for further digitalization and process automation.

Candidate Profile

  1. Bachelor’s degree in naval architecture, mechanical engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.

  2. Hands-on experience with advanced 3D CAD and PLM environments (for example Dassault-based platforms, Siemens NX, Tekla, Creo, SolidWorks or similar systems). Experience with hull modeling solutions is considered beneficial.

  3. Knowledge of scripting or automation tools (such as Python, VBA or batch scripting) is advantageous.

  4. Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of Dutch is considered a plus.

  5. Willingness to undergo a background screening as part of the selection procedure.

  6. Full and permanent EU citizenship and passport are mandatory due to the sensitive and defence-related character of the projects. Temporary EU work authorization or dual nationality involving non-EU citizenship is not acceptable under current programme regulations.
